Hy,

my primary domain with 15 clients works as file server too with about 30 sharing folders

Windows Server 2008 SP2 32bit

Clients are XP professional SP3 under the same domain

On server i have installed Norton Symantec Endpoint Protection and Acronis Backup Recovery 10

All works fine until a client tries to open a generic folder and nothing appears, the window is frozen.

I have to force the client with CTRL+ALT+DEL to unlock and also rebooting the client the folder remains locked until rebooting the server.

In other situations for some reasons i don't know all sharing folder become unreachable and all clients cannot more access to the server. Rebooting the servet all works fine.

I have tried to disable some features on the antivirus, but the problem returns random every 2-3 days and no one can access to shared folders until rebooting the server.

Nothing in the LOG file helps me

Tx for helping

Try to COMPLETELY disable the norton application for a week and tell me if the problem persists.
