gumbi17 Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I am new to the server world and I am trying to learn as much as I can before getting my server, I am needing to be able to have people log onto the server from remote locations. I understand most people want to lean towards VPN, but then that requires all the software they they need to be loaded on their machine. Can I have them log onto their actual account from the internet and get say a virtual desktop with all of the software loaded on? I know VMware and Hyper V make the virtual server but do they do virtual desktops as well? Quote
ICTCity Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 if you really want a greate virtual-desktop experience, take a look at XenDesktop! ICTCity Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Create a TS server and allow users to log in remotely? Pay attention... When you have a good connection you can use RDP, but when people use a remote connection, the RDP can be really slow. XenDesktop uses a compressed protocol and it work really really good.
