Hi everyone. sorry if this is in the wrong section, this is only my second thread.

So, I've installed Server 2008 R2 Enterprise edition for educational purposes in my home. I've connected three desktop PC's and have four users in AD.

I've created a FolderRedirection group policy to redirect all the users files "My documents, music, pictures etc.) the GP applies perfectly to existing users and all is well. However when a create a new user and add it to the FolderRedirction group, the policy does not take effect. I've tried using "gpupdate /force" and also deleting the local user directories from the C:\ drive however it just logs the user on with a temp profile....

Any Ideas?

Thanks

-Tom

run the resultant group policy to check where's the problem. Usually there's an access denied, if so, check permissions.

Thanks for your reply, I've been away so was unable to chack back until now.

I did solve the problem thanks to yourself, it was in fact a permissions problem. The user was unable to create the directories for the desktop etc.

Thanks Again,

-Tom
