ChrisTaylor Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Hey I'm relatively new to server 2008. Basically I have set up a domain controller with active directory and as a DNS and iv set up a new domain. To start I had the admin account and a user account. Now I find I can log onto the domain as both the administrator and the user account previously on the local computer. But when I type .\chris or .\administrator it won't let me log back onto the local computer. Can somebody explain this for me please?? Thanks 1 Quote

DrewDanielGeronimo Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Check first if you are on the domain or joined@ ICTCity advice. Sample Scenario below: Domain Name: DLTC Computer Name: PC (local account) You must remember this before you join the domain. User Name: DAN If you want to Joined to the domain: Logged in as: DLTC\DAN Local Only: Logged in as: PC\DAN or PC\Administrator or the hardest possible solution, remove the default password of local administrator using offline NT password & registry editor. Then you can log-in as locally without password. I hope It could help you... Quote
