[HEADING=1]FAQ about the Upcoming Changes[/HEADING]

I already have a license, will I be affected by these changes?

The change will only affect new licenses purchased after January 1, 2023 and licenses renewed after January 1, 2023.

Do the changes apply retroactively to existing licenses?

No, the changes presented will only affect renewals after January 1, 2023.

My license cannot be renewed until after January 1, 2023. Can I renew early under the existing terms?

Existing licenses can be renewed starting 90 days prior to expiration. Renewal at an even earlier date is not possible.

What happens if a license renewal is ordered shortly before January 1, 2023, but is not paid for until January 2023?

The relevant time is when the order is placed, not when it was paid. The terms and conditions in effect at the time the contract is entered into will apply.

All orders paid in advance have a payment term of 30 days. For an order to be validly completed, payment must be made within this period, otherwise the order is invalid.

Does anything change for existing “Platinum” licenses for WoltLab Suite Forum?

No, the terms of the contract at the time of purchase remain unchanged. All “Platinum” licenses permit the use of WoltLab Suite Forum in any version for an unlimited period of time.

“Platinum” licenses were offered for a limited period at the time of “WoltLab Burning Board 3”. These licenses allow the use of any version of WoltLab Suite Forum, but are not entitled to warranty or support.

How Is the Validity Check of a License Achieved?

With newer versions of WoltLab Suite we will provide the possibility to enter the license credentials directly into the software. This data will be used by the system to determine the information about the purchased products and their expiration date. This will also make it possible to indicate expiring licenses in time to ensure undisturbed operation.
