Forum² Admin AWS Posted February 8 Forum² Admin Posted February 8 xenForo released a new HYS for xenForo v 2.4. The core of it is highlighting chunked uploads. What is chunked uploads you ask? It is an upload system that will split large file uploads into multiple parts which makes it possible to upload files larger than what the server would normally allow. Is it useful? Yes and no. If you allow users to upload large files and had to set your php.ini upload limit high to allow it then yes it's useful. If you don't it's of no use at all. To me this is something that is available in other software for awhile now. Once again the xenForo team underwhelmed. They rest on their laurels and do nothing to innovate. If anyone actually thinks this is an earth shattering feature then they must be stuck in the 1990's. As most of you know I am not and never have been a fan of xenForo. I used the software for a time because it was the best for what I needed. That is no longer the case as there are many other forum software packages that offer way more and are actively developed. Some are even free. So while I dislike xenForo I do watch it to see if they start to innovate. I fear innovation isn't in their vocabulary though. What's your thoughts on this?
