A "newbie" in a community refers to a newcomer or someone who is inexperienced in that particular community or field.

This term is often used in online forums, gaming, and various interest groups to describe individuals who are still learning the ropes, familiarizing themselves with the norms, rules, and culture of the community.

Newbies may have questions, seek guidance, or look for resources to help them get started.

If you are new to forums a "newbie" then you've come to the right place to get tips and help starting your own forum community.

I didn't have the time for a while, but in all honesty, I really missed forums. After starting to get back into it, I kind of have that excitement in my life again.

You have defined it rightly. I'd like to add that a newbie is a term used for someone who is a novice in a field. But for a newbie in an online to forum, we need to strive to be welcoming and supportive too.

I totally agree with your submission. A newbie can also be seen as someone who is exploring new interests or trying new features within a community. Sometimes I try to embrace the 'newbie mindset' and it has helped me foster lifelong learning.

We do need to be as welcoming as we can. Onboarding new membership is essential for communities and forums. It's how you turn a new member into a loyal member who keeps coming back.
